Hong Kong Kingboard Chemical Group announced that it planned to construct a compound fertilizer plant with an investment of RMB1.4 billion in Xining, Qinghai. The plant will have a capacity of 0.3 million t/a of ammonia, 0.52 million t/a of urea and 0.5 million t/a of NPK with natural gas as feedstock. The company has completed its feasibility study on the project but the timetable for construction and operation was not yet set. The company has signed an agreement with Qinghai Government on co-investment and soon a new joint company will be set up. Kingboard will hold 90% of its stock right in the new company.
