IIE MEMBER CHARLIE MURRAY HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN EASY-going guy. But when he discovered he had been named a Cosmopolitan magazine Bachelor of the Year, even he was a bit flummoxed: "I kind of laughed about it. I don't know. I've just tried to be as humble about it as possible, as my dad tells me to be."

Erin Zieske, a photographer and former roommate of Murray's, found out about the competition and submitted pictures of Murray and some friends she had originally taken for a local fundraising calendar. "She didn't tell us until a couple weeks afterward," said Murray. "Then in June, Cosmo called me up and I was like, 'Ooookay....'"
