For those who love movies, there may be few jobs in the world that sound more plum than film critic for The New Yorker magazine.
David Denby, who shares film criticism duties at the magazine with Anthony Lane, said to a crowd Wednesday at The New Yorker College Tour on the UW-Madison campus that the job isn't all fun and games.
For example, there's the magazine's famous army of fact checkers to navigate your pieces through, and very high standards to meet. "They fact-check everything, including the poems," Denby said, and he didn't appear to be kidding.
