Los Angeles-based designer and retailer Julia Gerard is peddling peace in a big way.
The Russian-born immigrant, who has operated the J. Gerard store on Melrose for the past 20 years, recently took up residence in a former antiques shop next door and is getting ready to launch her new store dedicated solely to peace. Gerard is hoping to open The Peace Gallery either later this month or on the first day of spring.
"I've waited 20 years to do this," said Gerard. "Everything will have the peace sign."
