MARYVALE, Ariz. _ Growing up in the Bronx, Mark Attanasio used to hear rumors of neighborhood stickball games involving the Yankees' Joe Pepitone.
Attanasio, a switch-hitter and self-described ``baseball fanatic,'' dreamed of getting into one of those games but somehow it never happened.
``Whenever I'd see him, it was outside on the walk to school or home from school,'' Attanasio says. ``I'd hear that he played with the kids but I never got into any of those games, to my dismay.''
