IT is suddenly cool to care where you shop - and British consumers are now realising that their individual buying power can make a huge difference to the lives of farmers in third world countries.
In fact, as Fairtrade Fortnight draws to a close, it has emerged that the United Kingdom's Fairtrade sales topped pounds 140m in 2004 alone - a staggering 51 per cent rise on the previous year.
