FORT SMITH, Ark. -- Beverly Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: BEV) today announced that net income from continuing operations totaled $14.9 million (13 cents per share diluted) in the fourth quarter of 2004, up 30 percent from $11.4 million (10 cents per share diluted) in the same period in 2003.

Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2004 totaled $516.6 million, up 10 percent from the comparable period in 2003. (Revenues for both periods have been adjusted to exclude discontinued operations.)

For the full year, 2004 net income from continuing operations totaled $42.7 million (37 cents per share diluted), up 54 percent from $27.7 million (26 cents per share diluted) ...
