Steve Demos resigned abruptly Monday as president of White Wave, the Boulder-based maker of Silk soy milk.
The company, which Demos founded in 1977, was acquired by Dallas-based Dean Foods Inc. in 2002 for $204 million. It had become a division within the food conglomerate and recently had grown to include another Colorado company, Horizon Organic Dairy.
The entrepreneurial Demos, 55, was named to head the division and went from leading a $300 million company with 180 employees to a subsidiary with $1.3 billion in sales.
