St. Paul Celebrates 39th Annual St. Patrick's Parade.

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoping to fend off the chills of winter with a rollicking parade, a group of Irish St. Paulites founded the Saint Patrick's Day Association in 1967. The annual parade and its traditions have now become part of the fabric of St. Paul life for Irish and non-Irish alike.

As in most community celebrations, the association selects dignitaries: Ms. Shamrock and the Ms. Shamrock Princesses, Mr. Pat and the Blarney Brothers. However, serving requires more than parade appearances.
