During the last decade, we have witnessed an unparalleled explosion of interest in the practice of leadership. Leading organizational theorists have focused on the outcomes of the organization, but not much on how leaders and managers achieve these organizational objectives. Based on the work of Robert Greenleaf, servant leadership offers a viable alternative.
Servant leadership emphasizes increased service to others; a holistic approach to work; promoting a sense of community; and the sharing of power in decision making.
