The expatriate Australian political scientist Frank Salter has written a very important--and a brilliant--book (1) that deserves the close attention not only of evolutionists and social scientists, but of policy-makers as well. As E.O. Wilson--the Harvard professor who founded the field of sociobiology --states on the book jacket, this is "a fresh and deep contribution to the sociobiology of humans".
Although written in a scholarly, academic style, the basic ideas are not difficult to grasp. Salter's project is to quantify how much genetic overlap people in the same ethnic group or race share compared to people from different ethnic groups or races. Different ...
