Mar. 17--MIDDLETOWN -- The first red light automated enforcement camera has been installed in Middletown and soon will be operational.
Radar sensors and cameras were installed at Manchester Road and Breiel Boulevard last week. The system will be tested this week by Peek Traffic Corp. before going "live," taking pictures of red light violators at the busy intersection, according to Middletown police.
"That intersection is averaging more than 30 accidents a year, third highest in the city," said Acting Police Chief Mike Bruck.
