BRW has released its "Top Foreign Companies" list for 2005. The list ranks the 300 biggest foreign-owned companies operating in Australia on the basis of their revenue. Ranked at fifth place is Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, the subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, the Japanese-based company now regarded by many as the biggest car company in the world. Toyota Australia earns around $A7.5 billion, and in 2004 became the first Australian car maker to sell over 200,000 cars in a year. Its market share currently stands at 21.1 per cent.
