Mar. 18--In more fodder for Bull City boosters, the redrawn metropolitan statistical area that's built around Durham had the lowest unemployment rate in January among the state's 14 MSAs.
And the Durham MSA -- which includes Orange, Chatham and Person counties -- likely will remain among the highest employed MSAs in the state because of its job market mix of high tech, university and government workers.
In January, the Durham MSA -- which has a labor force of 251,591 -- had an unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, up from 4.0 percent in December, according to a report issued Thursday by the N.C. Employment Security Commission. ...
