St. Patrick could not have chosen a finer day than Saturday for the 23rd annual Syracuse parade named for the Irish saint. Brilliant sunshine and blue skies blessed the marchers, step dancers, band members and pipers, as well as thousands of parade viewers.
Three local grand marshals in public service were dubbed "Our Heroes in Uniform." They included Kevin Walsh, sheriff of Onondaga County; Norman Mordue, U.S. District judge; and John Cowin, chief of the Syracuse Fire Department.
