He played his first notes as a 4-year-old. While living in a farmhouse outside Bloomington, Ind., he stretched some rubber bands between handles of a dresser in his bedroom and began plucking away.
Now, about 32 years later, Joshua Bell is still making music. These days, he's using a violin worth more than $3 million.
He will bring his 1713 Stradivarius to Syracuse for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater in the Mulroy Civic Center.
He will close the concert with Tchaikovsky's Concerto in D major for Violin and Orchestra.
Even though he's been playing the concerto ...
