DHL plans to launch a new daily air freight service between Sydney and Melbourne by June 2005. The new service will increase by 22 tonnes the amount of freight that DHL will be able to carry between the two cities each day. Gary Edstein, DHL Express's regional director for Asia Pacific, said that one of the main reasons for the new service is the need to provide a connection with DHL's freighter from Sydney to New Zealand, with a lot of car parts destined for New Zealand coming from Melbourne.
