Ottawa ON -- Last October, Industry Minister David Emerson warned that, if Canada thumbed its nose at Chinese investment, there might be long-range financial repercussions. "What are we going to do for the next generation of Canadians who want a strong economy?" he asked. "You can't complain about excessive reliance on the United States and then snub our next largest trading partner."
