Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Rosales asks the faithful to support Alay Kapwa, the Philippine Catholic Churchs Lenten-evangelization program to help the poor.

In a pastoral letter to be read in all churches in the Archdiocese of Manila today, Palm Sunday (also designated as Alay Kapwa Sunday), Archbishop Rosales pointed to the "pain, suffering and death around us" especially those that were brought by killer typhoons, earthquakes and tsunamis, and the continuing grinding poverty of Filipinos.
