Article: Reduction in stamp duty 'not enough'.

Byline: HELEN LOVELESS

THE decision to help first-time buyers by doubling the stamp duty threshold on house purchases to [pounds sterling]120,000 has been criticised for not going far enough.

Industry and consumer groups have campaigned hard in recent months for the threshold to be raised. Chief executives from a number of building societies presented a petition in Downing Street this month calling for stamp duty reform.
