Mar. 21--DOVER -- When the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council meets Monday to issue state revenue forecasts, the group will keep an eye on the red-hot real estate market in Sussex County.
The building boom in Delaware has caused significant increases in revenue from the state's transfer tax on real estate transactions.
DEFAC, at its December meeting, predicted the state would collect $100 million this fiscal year from the tax, up from $88.5 million last year.
DEFAC predicted in December that the state would collect $2.96 billion in total revenue during this fiscal year.
