. A US judge has reserved his decision on the fate of a brain-damaged woman at the centre of an extraordinary political battle. Federal court judge James Whittemore said he would not issue an immediate decision on whether Terri Schiavo, pictured left, should have her feeding tube reinserted. The 41-year-old's fate has evolved into a legal and political storm.
Her feeding tube was removed on Friday on the orders of a Florida state judge, prompting an outcry from conservatives. In a hearing last night Judge Whittemore heard arguments from her parents, who say life is a religious right, and her husband, Michael, who claims she did not want to be kept alive ...
