The Australian government has backed the recommendations contained in a 2003 official review of herbal and other complementary medicines aimed at enhancing public confidence in the country's alternative medicines sector.
Releasing the government response to the review, which was undertaken by the Expert Committee on Complementary Medicines in the Health System, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Christopher Pyne said the supply of safe, high- quality and effective complementary medicines, timely access to them and the maintenance of a responsible and viable complementary medicines industry are important objectives for governments, health care practitioners, ...
