Oregon State Police had increased patrols on Highway 126 near Walterville a week before a four-car wreck killed a Leaburg woman and injured seven others Wednesday.
The crash killed 58-year-old Vicki Ramsey, a former Lane Community College employee. An 8-year-old boy and his father remained in the hospital in serious condition Thursday.
The extra patrol had ended shortly before the 7:49 p.m. wreck. Troopers were focusing on the five-mile stretch of road between Walterville and Leaburg during the morning and evening commutes because of a recent upsurge in speeding and drunken driving incidents, Lt. Mike ...
