THE "Caesar of the Philippines," the "Arm of Divine Providence," and "Liberator of the Filipino People" these were some of the titles writers gave to President Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy. To his people, however, he was simply "Heneral Miong."
Historical evidence shows that he did not want power or position. General Edilberto Evangelista was to be President of the revolutionary government that was being planned to supersede the Katipunan.
