ANCHORAGE, Alaska, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Wireless carrier Alaska DigiTel announced today a service contract with the Municipality of Anchorage, which will save the city an estimated $12,000 a month.
The contract, which drops the average per-minute cost of cellular service from the current 16 cents per minute to just 4 cents per minute, is for an estimated 600 lines. Those employees expected to benefit from the service reside in the Police and Fire Departments, the Department of Transportation, and the Mayor's Office.
