Like Alan Hunter, I too have seen a relationship between food allergy, the circulatory system, and body temperature. After eating an allergy-causing food my pulse rate at the wrist will increase by 10 to 20 beats [Coca pulse test]. An electronic pulse meter, however, will indicate a 40-90 beat increase at the fingertips. I assume that the allergy is causing spasms in the capillaries, causing the pulse meter to give an erroneous reading. There is also a decrease in fingertip temperature from the 90s down to the 60s or 70s, depending on the severity of the allergic reaction.
