RUBBER bullets could be used for the first time on mainland Britain to combat protesters at the G8 summit.
Police chiefs warned the bullets may be needed to quell any riot caused by demonstrators intent on wrecking the event.
The highly controversial use of potentially lethal rubber bullets highlights the scale of the threat posed by protesters - and suggests police are preparing for serious disruption.
