Mar. 26--The owner of Hamilton Place mall criticized the millions of dollars in property tax breaks given to BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee for its $226 million corporate campus planned on Cameron Hill in downtown Chattanooga.
Charles Willett Jr., a senior vice president of locally based developer CBL & Associates Properties Inc., said in a letter to Mayor Bob Corker that CBL has "strong opposition" to the tax breaks awarded to BlueCross, which amount to $36.8 million based on today's rates.
