Food & Drug Administration chief policy planner William Hubbard has announced his retirement. Dr. Randall Lutter, the chief economist in FDA's Office of Planning, will succeed Hubbard. Lutter has been with the agency since 2002. As the new associate commissioner for policy and planning, Lutter will be a senior adviser to acting FDA commissioner Dr. Lester Crawford on all major agency matters, including regulations, policy and administrative programs.
