The Nasdaq and its Brut ECN affiliate recently announced new port connectivity fees for downloading real-time trade-related data, beginning April 1. The Nasdaq is reportedly still debating internally, however, where port connectivity actually starts.
The outcome of that debate could result in a nasty April Fools' Day surprise for some correspondent clearers, and may also reignite some of the original controversy surrounding Nasdaq's ACT risk management system.
The Nasdaq's March 7 announcement stated that FIX-protocol port fees for both the Nasdaq Market Center and the Brut ECN will increase to $400 a month for each connectivity port--a fee that would ...
