CNPC announced recently the construction of the crude oil pipeline between China and Kazakhstan would be completed and put into operation at the end this year. Matched with the first transnational pipeline of crude oil the construction of refinery and western oil pipeline will start up in succession.

The crude oil pipeline between China and Kazakhstan, which started up for construction in September 2004 from Artasu of Kazakhstan in the west to Dushanzi, Xinjiang, China in the east totals 1 240 kilometers in length, 988 kilometers of which is in Kazakhstan, the remaining 252 kilometers is in China.
