SAN ANTONIO -- SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE: SBC) today announced a new voice and data networking services contract with San Antonio-based H.E. Butt Grocery (H-E-B), one of the nation's largest independently owned food retailers with more than 300 supermarkets and 56,000 employees.
Under the terms of the three-year contract, SBC companies will provide H-E-B with SBC PremierSERV(SM) Network-based Virtual Private Network (NVPN), utilizing MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) technology, as the primary network architecture for all of its stores and corporate offices.
