A COURSE of exercise may be the best treatment for patients with depression, a report says today.
Yet only a few GPs suggest it as an alternative to drugs.
Now the Mental Health Foundation is launching a campaign for more exercise therapy to be prescribedto people with mild or moderate depression.
It wants the Government to invest [pounds sterling]20million - around five per cent of annual spending on antidepressant drugs - in developing exercise referral as a treatment.
