Napster has a new concept: music for rent.
The new Napster To Go service lends unlimited MP3 downloads for $15 per month, so you can fill up your MP3 player for a reasonable price - although when payment stops, so does the music.
The service is a direct shot across the bow of Apple's 99-cents-a-song iTunes service. According to Napster's math, it would take $10,000 worth of iTunes to fill an iPod that has a potential storage capacity of 10,000 songs.
And whereas iPod users are locked into iTunes, numerous portable MP3 players like Rio Sport or Zen Micro are compatible with Napster.
