A rise in aggressive car driving, especially by 'girl racers', is increasing the number of near-misses on the roads, lorry drivers warn today. A survey of HGV drivers found that four out of five had narrowly avoided a collision because of dangerous manoeuvres by car drivers.
Complaints included aggressive overtaking, sharp braking and generally showing insufficient consideration. Almost half of the 100 drivers questioned said they had noticed that women drivers had become more aggressive in recent years.
