Housing Solutions: A newly created nonprofit organization, Housing Solutions, is addressing the problem of the lack of affordable housing in Poway. In early March, it launched an education effort in Poway to respond to the shortage of affordable homes, primarily affecting working families and seniors there. The San Diego Apartment Association said recently that the average price of a home in Poway exceeds $539,000, an increase of 37 percent since 2002.
