Cincinnati Public Schools' graduation rate jumped 11 points to 72.1 percent for the class of 2004 -- 25 points higher than five years ago, when the rate was 47 percent.
The Ohio Department of Education released the 2003-04 graduation rate for the district this week. The graduation rate was 61 percent for the class of 2003.
The new rate will appear on the district's 2004-05 Ohio Report Card, to be issued in August. The graduation rate lags one year behind the report card to allow summer graduates to be included.
