USS Boxer's install brings the NAVSUP plan for Navy Cash rollout to the fleet one step closer. According to NAVSUP's Navy Cash Program Manager, Mary Rivers, the legacy ATMs-at-Sea will be completely phased-out and replaced by the new cashless ATMs throughout the fleet by 2008.
The cashless ATM known as Navy Cash employs new technology that allows Sailors to transfer money from their personal home-designated bank or credit union account to the ship.
