Apr. 1--Texas employers again put out the Help Wanted sign in February, continuing to feed a slow labor market recovery in the state.
The Texas Workforce Commission reported Thursday that 8,800 positions were added to payrolls in February.
And signs of an increasingly strong job market have also brought more job seekers into the hunt, causing the unemployment rate to tick up slightly to 6 percent.
The bulk of the job gains were in business services, which added 6,200 jobs. Education and health services also posted strong growth, adding 2,800 jobs. Manufacturing employment rose by about 900 new jobs over the month.
