Apr. 1--Property values in southeastern Wisconsin rose 8.9 percent last year, the largest percentage increase since 1992 and surpassing the increase in property values statewide, according to a new report by the Public Policy Forum.
The report's findings could signal the start of a trend in which the southeastern region consistently outperforms the state as a whole in property value growth, said Jeff Schmidt, a researcher for the Public Policy Forum who wrote the report.
