TURKEY, Georgia, and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement on the construction of a railway line between Kars in northeast Turkey, and Akhalkalaki and Tbilisi in Georgia. Azerbaijan, which will help pay for the $US 350 million project, has a rail link to Tbilisi from the capital, Baku.
The project involves a new line between Kars and Akhalkalaki, costing $US 200 million, and restoring the Akhalkalaki--Tbilisi section at a cost of $US 150 million. Work will ...
