Alun Michael, Minister for Inland Waterways, announced today that Mr Tony Hales has been appointed as the new Chairman of British Waterways.
The current Chairman, Dr George Greener retires on 9 July. Tony Hales will take over his responsibilities from 10 July 2005, for a three year period.
