Bechtel wins USD2bn Oman smelter
US giant Bechtel has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract for a USD2bn aluminium smelter at Sohar in Oman, reported The Times of Oman. The first potline will have an annual capacity of 330,000 tonnes. Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, Oman Oil and Alcan are developers.
