TRANSPORTATION: Honda Leases Two Cars to Las Vegas.(FCX fuel cell cars)

Honda Motor Company (11, 2-chome, Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo 107-8556, Japan; Tel: 03 3423-1111; in the U.S.: 212/355-9191; world.honda.com) has leased two FCX fuel cell cars to the city of Las Vegas for $500 a month each. The two cars are the only two fuel cell vehicles registered in the state of Nevada. It brings the total number of Honda fuel cell cars in the U.S. to 14.

The cars will be refueled at a city-owned and -operated hydrogen station, which was installed in 2002 and is located at the Las Vegas Fleet and Transportation Services Center. The station was the world's first hydrogen refueling station that featured co- production of electricity.
