Dyson has invented a vacuum cleaner that can order its own spare parts.
This trick is all down to a tiny computer chip embedded in the vacuum cleaner. It holds all the details about the cleaner, such as the model and serial number. The cleaner alerts the user if it needs a replacement part, providing all the details required to order it. Then all the owner has to do is phone the Dyson call centre.
When the call is answered, the owner holds the telephone receiver over the vacuum cleaner which transmits a message detailing what is wrong and orders any part it needs. The vacuum cleaner will also be able to tell the call centre when it was bought and how ...
