The economic impact of the travel industry is extremely important to Pine Bluff. According to the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism's 2003 annual report, more than $95 million in total travel expenditures was spent in Jefferson County.
"Because Pine Bluff is not considered an actual 'destination' city, many overtook the influence that tourism has on our city of 55,000," said Sheri Storie, sales account executive for the Pine Bluff Convention and Visitors Bureau, "but we're out to change that notion."
