WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Knight-Ridder/Tribune Business News selected America Online as the first electronic information service to offer its news to the consumer marketplace, Robert L. Harris, director, announced. 
America Online offers subscribers a wide variety of services, including news, sports, weather, stock quotes, electronic mail, conferencing, software, computing support and online classes.  These services can be accessed from a broad range of personal computers using America Online's proprietary software. 
America Online, based in Vienna, Va., has more than 200,000 households subscribing to its consumer online services.
