Apr. 6--LOXAHATCHEE -- Working-class horse owners, squeezed by soaring land costs and suburban sprawl, say they're being priced out of the area.
As Wellington's upper-crust horse community thrives, longtime horse devotees such as Jim Hinson are wondering whether they have a place in Palm Beach County.
"If the politicians have their way, this will be a rich man's county with no room for people with a horse," said the 64-year-old, who once had 30 horses but now has only one after he downsized to a smaller, more affordable spread in The Acreage.
