A World Trade Organisation (WTO) dispute panel is set to back a US complaint against Mexican anti-dumping duties on imported US rice.

In a statement, Mexico's economy ministry noted that the WTO panel had issued a preliminary ruling on March 11 which found that that Mexico "acted in a manner incompatible with certain provisions" of the WTO's anti-dumping and subsidies agreement.

The panel recommended that Mexico bring its practices and measures in line with its global trade obligations, the statement added.

The dispute centres on an antidumping investigation by Mexican authorities which led to the imposition of extra duties up to 10.18% on US ...
