Article: WTO set to back US over Mexican rice tariffs.(USA/Mexico)

A World Trade Organisation (WTO) dispute panel is set to back a US complaint against Mexican anti-dumping duties on imported US rice.

In a statement, Mexico's economy ministry noted that the WTO panel had issued a preliminary ruling on March 11 which found that that Mexico "acted in a manner incompatible with certain provisions" of the WTO's anti-dumping and subsidies agreement.

The panel recommended that Mexico bring its practices and measures in line with its global trade obligations, the statement added.
